Downloading the plugin is a nightmare.
Why don't you add a link with a tar.gz?

Well its true, I already do all the work to create the code, and provide it at no cost to you. If you are unable or unwilling to get the tools to obtain free code, then I see no reason why I should go to extra lengths to give away free code.
Its akin to giving away free beer, and having people complain that its a pry top and top a screw top. If you really want the free beer you will figure out how to get the bottle open. Furthermore, if people have a git checkout, they may feel more compelled to contribute back as it is easier. And that is more important to me. Personally I wrote this code because I had a need for it. If you want to use it that is fine, and I hope you can find it useful. But I really see no reason why I should go out of my way to give you free beer.
